XPeng Motors Zhaoqing Base Photovoltaic Project Officially Connected to the Grid for Power Generation

On November 25th, XPeng Motors officially announced the successful grid connection of its distributed photovoltaic project at the Zhaoqing base.  With over 1600 hours of annual sunshine, the Zhaoqing XPeng Motors Intelligent Networked Technology Industrial Park possesses ideal conditions for utilizing clean energy. Capitalizing on this advantage, XPeng has strategically installed distributed photovoltaic systems on the rooftops of assembly and welding workshops, as well as parking areas, transforming sunlight into clean electricity.

This initiative is expected to replace 30% of the Zhaoqing base's production electricity with clean energy, significantly contributing to energy conservation and emission reduction in manufacturing processes.

Construction of the distributed photovoltaic project commenced in April of this year, boasting a total installed capacity of 20,735 megawatts. The project is estimated to generate an average annual electricity output of 21,330,000 kWh, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of over 50,000 people. This translates to an annual reduction of approximately 6,515 tons of coal consumption and 17,512 tons of carbon dioxide emissions.

Further demonstrating its commitment to sustainability, XPeng Motors released its inaugural ESG report in October, marking the first ESG report by a Chinese new energy vehicle manufacturer based on international standards. Notably, XPeng Motors has consecutively received a AA rating from MSCI ESG Research, the highest rating among global automakers. In 2020, XPeng Motors delivered 27,000 new vehicles, which, according to professional third-party institutions, resulted in a total reduction of 5,520 tons of carbon emissions compared to traditional fuel vehicles.  With the increase in new vehicle deliveries this year and the official grid connection of the distributed photovoltaic project at the Zhaoqing base, XPeng Motors is poised to make even greater contributions to the achievement of China's "dual carbon" goals.
